Just Imagine either being religious person or Atheist

This is one of the reason why I still venture myself being Muslim which was taken for granted from my parent. Literally I’m not Atheist either. As we ever heard the news few days ago, a guy in West Sumatera, has arrested by policeman because he briefly announced himself as an atheist on Facebook (read from here). For me, it was terribly inequity, while most likely in every bureaucratic process is quite far actually to define what practical of religion is. Since the corruption has becoming common issue and how people in certain way have not get decent amenities like GKI Yasmin’s case.

In contrary, the hard-line Muslim group, Islam Defenders Front (FPI) is now time by time blooming. No wonder, if one day this country will convert in Islamic Sharia Law, which is frighten me as you can read this news on The Guardian, Boko Haram in Nigeria who convinces to establish Sharia Law. One of his statement, “There are no exceptions. Even if you are a Muslim and you don’t abide by Sharia, we will kill you. Even if you are my own father, we will kill you”. Personally my question is right now, “Did I really choose the wrong religion? Because I mean this is not about just theory or what was taken in Alqur’an, but seems to me in practical doesn’t make sense and most likely disrespectful. But, I don’t know, I still dig for it”

I think the song from John Lennon, “Imagine” perfectly suitable for me as a dreamer to see this World in peaceful without war, disrespectful, and discrimination.

Transgender People Need “LIGHT”

It has been familiar most transgender we have seen are working in prostitution. Even though, there are many label such as gigolos or whores who the same level as well as transgender on escort services, but the perception of society tend to put in too much pressure, discrimination, and harassment belongs to transgender community rather than gigolos or whores as in example.

For further question is, how do transgender who working as prostitutes might be survived? Where it would goes to unproductive periods; getting old, less income from customer, and will compete to transgender prostitutes who are more attractive and younger. Moreover, those elder transgender perhaps do not have basic skills where they can substitute after the productive time goes away.

I would say the answer for this matter is EDUCATION.

Obviously, having a decent education can be precious asset in the future. Because by then we have trained to be a creative and pretty independent person in different fields, such as becoming professional make-up artist, entrepreneur, etc.

Regrettably, there are two point I have found still leading up to the strike. Firstly, as a personal motivation, some of transgender people have been rejected by their family, friends, and relatives, so how can they will focus on education, because at the same time they have to get much money in order to make their family happy, and being accepted in society. Moreover, there is no chance yet working in formal sector for transgender, even though they have bachelor’s degree. Hard to believe it, but It is very common happens among transgender people in Indonesia. Secondly, lacking motivator from outside such as institution and craftsmanship association. For example, in Indonesia, many university willing to give a scholarship toward poor student, but not exactly to transgender people, neither gay, or lesbian.

Yeah, This is something should be improved for the next generation where education is not just for rich or “heterosexual” people, however everybody has the right to get a better life on education.
